JC Unis was founded by Jean Comby in 1916.

Unis stands for "Union National Inter-Syndicale", this is the umbrella organ in which French toy manufacturers  are united.

JC Unis is a typical French  product that tried  to compete with the big German names of it's time.

Many steam models are copies of German models but not as sophisticated and simpler in production.

Although most machines were copies of German steam engines, and JC did not have the glamor of the Germans, the were still good quality.

A much used color in their machines is of course the French blue.

the best production years where shortly after World War II, but this is short-lived because production stopped in 1953.
